If you are a student , professional or hobbyist who is interested in XQuery, XML and DB2 then you would be interested in the IDUG contest.

It is a contest that has five separate tracks that check varied skills of every competing individual. You can enter any track that you believe would be competitive enough for your skill. Or if you are extremely versatile then you can enter all the five tracks too. It is upto you.

The tracks include:

Video Contest: Upload a video, judged by the community, prizes awarded monthly.

Gadget Contest: Create a small widget or gadget, judged by the community, prizes awarded monthly.

XQuery Challenge: Answer a series of questions by developing queries in XQuery. All correct answers (answer and query structure) entered to win larger prizes.

Port an Application: Port an existing application to use XML, XQuery or DB2. Judged by a panel of judges.

Develop an application: Develop a brand new application using XML and/or XQuery. Judged by a panel of judges.

It is an excellent opportunity for everyone very versatile with XQuery, DB2 and/or XML. You can win fabulous and awesome prizes. Seeing the opportunity and the chance to compete with a lot of talent has encouraged me. I plan to enter the contest myself. Though i am not that qualified to enter all the five tracks i do intend to compete in at least one track. It is an excellent opportunity to grab some great prizes and also learn and compete with capable individuals and their innovative ideas and ideals. This is a contest that one can win monthly prizes. I am interested in the video contest, I watch a lot of videos. I also have a handycam which i use for shooting a lot of videos. So i intend to join the video track and submit a video and i hope i win. I hope you guys grab this opportunity too and get to win some awesome prizes.
